I am not sure if it's true or false.. If he is still alive and well, under different nick etc.. I won't get annoyed by that. All I would care about is relief that he is safe and well. I would love to hear from him indeed.. It's been such a long time since I last seen him online 3 months ago.. I totally miss him alot. I would give him a big hug if he is alive as someone with different identity and say "I missed you buddy and cry in his arms with happiness"

No offense to friends of Num that would understandably be relived that he was alive and well, but seriously, I know I would have serious issues with a "friend" who decided that once he found out a cure was available that he would keep that information away from an entire community of his friends and the furry fandom as it seems.

At the very least, I know that I would be reprimanding one of my friends who ever had the jutzpa (royal colossal nerve) to pull something like this. To trick everyone into thinking he were to die in order to take advantage of their emotions and kindness so that he could get lots of money and recognition from the fandom.

NO dice! It is extremely wrong to take advantage of people and it is even more wrong to let people think you are dying just so that they would feel bad for you and support you. Well, if this is true, Num will get the recognition he seeked, albeit negative.

If this claim is not true, than I am definitely sorry to hear that he lost his battle and that I am proud of the furry community for being supporitve of a fellow brother in need.

I think they Furry Community should still be proud of what they were able to do even if it was for a lie. I too was once scammed for far more from a former friend that had seemingly just flipped out as the result of a midlife crisis or something. Others in the group of shareholders lost far, far more than I did. No honor at all in that. I don't let it eat at me, but I'll certainly kill the bastard if I ever catch up with him if one of many others hasn't beat me to it.

The furry community will always have a large number of parasites and hosts. People who brag about ghosting through the entire con, sleeping in lobbies and friends' rooms, dining on free pizza and sneaking into sponsor lounges. Most of the hosts are more than happy to provide, they feel as though they're giving the gift of happiness, when they're really just wasting money and allowing selfish assholes to populate the fandom.

I've personally met a handful of both types, and I can't stand either. "Oh, I'm paying his rent and bills and buying him food because he said he sort-of kind-of likes me, because I'm not doing anything to better myself as a person and money is my last resort".

I have definitely not been scammed. Sorry to anyone who did, but as a barely-fur, I stay away from drama, leeches, and anything else I'd normally stay away from.

I'm glad I didn't donate, because at the time it seemed really weird. Why fly over to hang out with a bunch if people you don't know if you've only weeks to live? I'd want to be with family and friends that are close to me, personally.

Ill even admit I was taken in until I heard he got to the US and was having a fiend go along with him everywhere too..but then it was too late, and honestly whod believe you if you say "uh guys?". They'd condem you for dareing to say something like that on a dying mans last trip.

Never heard of the guy... though I guess that makes sense since I don't get around much and tend to be the quiet type, but... the whole situation seemed a bit more serious to me than some standard types of fur-ama. People were conned out of money and some were emotionally shaken by N8's claims...

... yeah, definitely more serious than flaming or posting pictures of Michael Jordon yiffing a bucket of chicken on FA, and anyone caught in this guy's snare should be rightly pissed off, but... well, this is probably going to get shot down pretty hard, but maybe there's a chance this guy might feel sorry for what he did and be capable of confessing and returning the money he wrongfully collected... or he could be beyond redemption, sure, could be sans any kind of remorse or honor and would vanish for awhile and bide his time for his return, but I felt compelled to try throwing out the possibility of him... being allowed to try to rectify what's been done. Perhaps it is somewhat soft or gullible of me, but I like to think there'd be at least some kind of chance for him to fess up and he'd be judged fairly after the fact.
